New Mexico Army National Guard

Las Cruces Readiness Center

Las Cruces, NM

2020

The New Mexico Army National Guard (NMARNG) Readiness Center included Limited Army Aviation Support Facility (LAASF) components in Las Cruces in south central New Mexico. The facility is 28,611 square feet of new construction on State-owned land. Vigil & Associates was an Architect of Record on this project. The prime architect was Coover-Clark & Associates who specializes in nationwide readiness centers and army aviation support facilities.

Before the facility was completed, the NMARNG leased two hangar facilities from the Las Cruces International Airport less than one mile from the new facility. The leased facilities served as both an Aviation Support Facility and a Readiness Center, but they were undersized for these functions and in poor condition. The situation was inadequate to meet the maintenance and support requirements associated with the aircraft.

With the completion of the new facility, the ability of NMARNG to support State and Federal missions has increased dramatically. The installment of adequate maintenance, training, storage, and administrative areas has had a positive impact on unit readiness and deployment capabilities.

Project includes:
• Aircraft Hangar Areas
• Administration Areas
• Classrooms
• Learning Center
• Lockers/Toilets/Showers
• Break/Assembly Area
• Physical Fitness Area
• Facility Storage
• Mechanical/Electrical Areas
• Telecom/Information Technology Areas
