Fire Station 4

Albuquerque, NM

In Progress

The City of Albuquerque Fire Station 4 project includes the design and construction of a new 11,134 sf fire station paired with a ½-acre public park, enhancing both emergency response capabilities and community amenities. The facility will serve as the home of Albuquerque Fire Rescue’s Special Operations Unit, supporting critical, high-risk response functions throughout the city.

The station is thoughtfully programmed to meet the operational needs of modern fire service professionals and includes eight bunk rooms, three apparatus bays, three officer suites, a conference room, and fully equipped kitchen and living areas, as well as an exercise room to support firefighter health and readiness. Site development includes all associated utilities, landscaping, and infrastructure improvements. An exterior training center has been identified as a potential future expansion, allowing the facility to adapt to evolving training and operational demands.

Located in Albuquerque’s Wells Park neighborhood in the northwest quadrant of the city—near Downtown and Old Town—the site is situated near the intersection of Indian School Road NW and 2nd Street NW. The project’s integration of a public park reinforces the City’s commitment to community engagement while delivering a vital public safety facility.

Vigil & Associates is proud to partner with the City of Albuquerque on this important project, contributing to a modern, resilient fire station that strengthens emergency response, supports first responders, and serves the surrounding community for years to come.
