Fire Station 12

Albuquerque, NM

2025

Vigil & Associates is proud to partner with the City of Albuquerque on the design and construction of the new Fire Station 12. This modern, 11,169 SF facility is designed to support the critical operations of Albuquerque Fire Rescue while providing a safe, functional, and efficient environment for first responders.

Strategically located on a 3.21-acre site at the corner of Linn Avenue and Shirley Street—just north of Central Avenue—the new station includes:

• Eight individual bunk rooms for firefighter accommodations
• Three officer suites to support administrative and supervisory staff
• A full kitchen and communal living space, fostering camaraderie and rest between calls
• Conference and computer rooms to support training, briefings, and operational planning
• Dedicated exercise room to promote health and wellness
• Modern restrooms and support facilities for daily operations

Operational functionality is prioritized with three large apparatus bays to house fire and rescue vehicles, an EMS station, and specialized areas such as a wash-down area, apparatus support room, and secure storage for equipment and supplies.

The project also includes comprehensive site development, featuring public parking and secured staff parking, ensuring both community access and operational security.

Designed with both resilience and functionality in mind, Fire Station 12 will serve as a critical asset for emergency response in this growing area of Albuquerque, supporting faster response times and improved public safety for years to come.
