In Progress
The DHSEM State Fire Marshal’s Office Fire Training Academy is a new 32,700-square-foot facility in Santa Fe designed to support firefighter training, administrative operations, and community engagement across New Mexico.
The single-story building brings together administrative offices, shared conference and break areas, four training classrooms accommodating up to 40 participants each, and a 150-seat auditorium. Operational features include a drive-through apparatus bay with supporting spaces, along with fitness, locker, and shower facilities to promote firefighter readiness and wellness.
The site also includes a public firefighter memorial and outdoor amphitheater with seating for approximately 150 people, creating a meaningful space for remembrance, ceremonies, and public gatherings. Site improvements provide secured access, modern utilities, and infrastructure for future solar-shaded parking and electric vehicle charging, with a shade structure integrated into the amphitheater design.
Designed to meet New Mexico’s green building standards, the Fire Training Academy reflects a commitment to sustainability, operational efficiency, and long-term service to the state’s fire service professionals and communities.
