Shipping Container Office Building

Vigil & Associates partnered with Underbox to design and construct an innovative, sustainable headquarters for Enchanted Sun Realty using repurposed steel shipping containers. This forward-thinking project embraced adaptive reuse principles and industrial aesthetics to create a striking and functional commercial space.

The building is composed of five “high cube” shipping containers, each measuring 40 feet in length and 9 feet in height—providing extra ceiling space compared to standard 8-foot-high containers. The containers were arranged and modified to support the specific operational and aesthetic needs of Enchanted Sun Realty, incorporating both form and function into every detail.

Customized architectural features include energy-efficient windows and doors that were strategically cut and reinforced into the container walls, maximizing natural light and maintaining structural integrity. A custom-designed steel staircase and elevated decks at both the front and rear of the building provide additional outdoor gathering and circulation space, contributing to the dynamic feel of the headquarters.

The result is a unique and modern workspace that reflects the innovative spirit of Enchanted Sun Realty while promoting environmental responsibility through sustainable building practices. This project showcases the potential of modular construction and container architecture as a viable, design-forward solution for commercial development.
